chris toth
Chris Toth provides specialized goalkeeper training for the Cardiff Sockers, helping develop some of the strongest keepers in the region. The son of legendary San Diego Sockers goalkeeper Zoltan Toth—whose #1 jersey was retired by the Sockers—Chris has built an accomplished playing career while pouring his experience back into youth development.
Chris is currently the starting goalkeeper for the San Diego Sockers in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Across his indoor career he has played for the San Diego Sockers (2009–2018; current), Ontario Fury (2018–2020, 2022–2023), and Tacoma Stars (2020, 2023–2025). He’s a five-time MASL Goalkeeper of the Year (2017, 2018, 2020, 2024, 2025), a multi-time All-League First Team selection (2017, 2018, 2020, 2024, 2025) with earlier honors (3rd Team 2015; Honorable Mention 2019, 2021), and helped the Sockers to three PASL Championships (2011–2013), three U.S. Open Cup titles (2010–2012), and a FIFRA Club Championship (2012). Career records include 79–17 regular season / 11–6 playoffs (Sockers), 22–20 (Fury), and 25–18 regular season / 1–2 playoffs (Stars).
On sand, Chris has been the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. National Beach Soccer Team since 2013, earning 104 caps with a 53–51 record. He has competed in four FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups (2013 – Tahiti; 2019 – Paraguay; 2021 – Russia; 2024 – Dubai) and in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2025)—winning CONCACAF titles in 2013 and 2023, finishing runner-up in 2019 and 2021, and third in 2025.
